The Young and Restless star dead at 66 years of age

Daytime television mourns the death of Andrea Evans, one of its biggest performers, who tragically went away at the age of 66.

The renowned actress passed away from cancer on Sunday, according to her old manager Don Carroll. Nick Leicht, her current manager, also expressed his sorrow over her demise.

I’ve spent the last seven years working with Andrea. She was an incredible joy to work with and such a fantastic talent, he told People.

Andrea, a significant player in daytime drama, is most known for playing the vivid roles of Patty Williams on The Young and the Restless and the troubled teenager Tina Lord on One Life to Live.

She was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 1988 for Outstanding Ingenue in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Tina.

One Life to Live executive producer Frank Valentini, who is currently the EP of General Hospital, paid tribute to the late actor on Twitter.

“I am so sorry to hear of Andrea Evans’ passing,” he wrote. When I started working at OLTL, Andrea had already become a tremendous star. Added he.

She was a joy to work with and always kind and helpful. A true midday legend that will be sorely missed. I’m sorry for her friends and family.

In 2015, Andrea received a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Performer in a New Approaches Drama Series for her role as Vivian Price in the web series DeVanity.

Andrea has a wide range of prominent television roles outside of daytime drama, including Rebecca Hotchkiss on Passions and Patty Walker on The Bay.

She has had appearances in TV movies and movies for movies, such as Hit List, Ice Cream Man, and A Low Down Dirty Shame. For a break in her career, Andrea departed One Life to Live in the 1990s and maintained a low profile for several years.

She admitted to the publication in 2008 that a terrifying encounter with a stalker motivated her to withdraw from the public eye. She acknowledged that it had altered her forever. No way could it not, I said.

On One Life to Live in the same year, the well-liked actress returned to the part of Tina.

Executive Producer Valentini told TV Guide in 2008 that fans had been clamoring for her return for years, so her homecoming was a highly anticipated event.

Even though Andrea hasn’t appeared on OLTL since 1990, he noted that she continues to be one of the most often requested characters to do so.

I warmly welcome her back to OLTL and to the position in which she first captured the attention of our viewers.

The couple’s daughter Kylie and husband Stephen Rodriguez, whom Andrea wed in 1998, both survive her. She previously spent 1981–1983 married to Wayne Massey, a co-star on One Life to Live.
