A private jet crashed into a residential area in Florida on Sunday afternoon, killing all nine people on board. The aircraft reportedly lost control during its flight, plunging thousands of feet before hitting the ground and bursting into flames.
The Learjet 60 had departed from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas and was traveling to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas. Around 12:50 p.m., the aircraft crashed near Greenacres in Palm Beach County.
Disturbing footage reportedly captured the jet making a sudden turn before diving toward the ground. The impact triggered a massive explosion, sending thick black smoke into the sky and scattering wreckage across the crash site.

Authorities confirmed that all nine occupants lost their lives. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis described the incident as a devastating tragedy and praised emergency responders for their swift actions. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported on the ground.
What Happened in the Minutes Before the Crash?
Early assessments of flight data and air traffic control communications suggested that severe weather conditions may have played a role.
The female pilot had reportedly encountered icing conditions, precipitation, and moderate turbulence while flying at high altitude. She informed air traffic controllers that the outside temperature had dropped to minus 47 degrees Celsius and requested permission to climb higher.
Although the request was approved, the situation quickly spiraled out of control.
The Pilot’s Terrifying Final Radio Messages
According to reported air traffic control recordings, the pilot declared an emergency as the aircraft began descending at an alarming speed.
She initially reported losing altitude at approximately 10,000 feet per minute, before the descent rate increased to 20,000 feet per minute.
The aircraft was also reportedly experiencing an overspeed condition, making it increasingly difficult to regain control.
In one of her final transmissions, the pilot warned that the jet was going to crash into the ground.
Moments later, she described the aircraft banking at a 60-degree angle while continuing its rapid descent.
An air traffic controller attempted to maintain communication, but the final transmission reportedly ended with screams, followed by silence.
Investigators Search for Answers
Flight tracking information indicated that the Learjet fell from approximately 35,000 feet in about a minute.
The aircraft, registered as N722BD and operated by a Delaware-based company, was completely destroyed in the crash.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), assisted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), is investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
Although icing, turbulence, and the aircraft’s extreme descent have raised serious questions, investigators have not established an official cause of the crash.
The identities of the nine victims had not been publicly released at the time of the initial reports.
As investigators examine the flight recordings, weather conditions, and aircraft data, the pilot’s reported final words offer a heartbreaking glimpse into the terrifying moments before the tragedy.
