The Duchess of Sussex contributed a few words to the Mayhew website, which she has decided to support as a royal patron since 2019.

The message was written and circulated in the name of the Duchess’s dear friend Oli Juste, who was the one who first connected her with the organization. In a letter following his passing, Meghan Markle stated that “He left me and many others with shattered hearts and reflections, knowing that his legacy to his animal friends is very simple: just love them.”

The duchess recalls in the letter how Oli supported her at the Mayhew organization in both public and covert ways. Meghan and Oli are both well known for their love of animals; in fact, at the time of the incident in question, Meghan’s future husband and fiancé Rob was aiding her hurt dog Guy in healing. Meghan’s three-year contract expired at the beginning of this year. The duchess, on the other hand, has stated that she will continue to support the aforementioned organization. He concluded by saying that Mayhew would be the one to continue Oli’s legacy.

He added in the letter, “In his honor, we will build the Oli Juste wing at Mayhew to house pets whose owners are having trouble finding them because, like Oli, they will always be loved and never forgotten. “We will create the Oli Juste wing at Mayhew to house animals in his honor.”
