A blonde was standing waist-deep in a river one sunny afternoon, splashing around and moving her arms through the water.
A man walking nearby noticed her and stopped, confused. At first, he thought maybe she had dropped something or was trying to cool off. But the longer he watched, the stranger it looked.
Finally, he walked closer to the riverbank and called out, “Excuse me! What are you doing in there?”
The blonde looked up and answered seriously, “I’m washing my clothes.”
The man blinked. “Washing your clothes? In the river?”
“Yes,” she said, holding up a wet shirt. “They were dirty, so I thought I’d clean them.”
The man tried not to laugh. “But why don’t you just use a washing machine?”
The blonde sighed, as if the answer should have been obvious.
“I tried that,” she said, “but it was too dizzy.”
