The family of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie, is going through an incredibly tough time right now. Her son, Camron Guthrie, recently shared a heartfelt video plea directly to whoever might be holding his mom.
In the video, posted on Savannah’s Instagram, Camron spoke calmly but with obvious emotion on behalf of the whole family. He said something along these lines: “This is Camron Guthrie. I’m speaking for the Guthrie family. Whoever is out there holding our mother, we want to hear from you.

We haven’t heard anything directly. We need you to reach out, and we need a way to communicate with you so we can move forward. But first, we have to know that you have our mom. We want to talk to you, and we are waiting for contact.”
This came right as the first deadline mentioned in a ransom note — sent to several media outlets — passed at 5 p.m. local time in Arizona. That note had apparently set another deadline for Monday, though details on what would happen if demands weren’t met haven’t been made public.
The FBI’s Phoenix office has stepped in, offering a $50,000 reward for any info that leads to finding Nancy or arresting whoever’s responsible. So far, though, investigators say they haven’t identified a suspect or even a clear person of interest. They’re asking anyone with tips to contact them at 1-800-CALL-FBI or the Pima County Sheriff’s Office at 520-351-4900.
Nancy is described as about 5-foot-5, around 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. The family had already put out an earlier message the day before, with Savannah, Camron, and their sister Annie asking for proof of life and saying they’re ready to talk. It’s a desperate situation, and you can feel how much they’re holding onto hope that she’s still okay.
