A lot of people are sad about the news, especially those who have always admired his work. The Willis family is still sticking together and helping each other through this tough time.

Tallulah said that her visits with her dad require mental preparation because she doesn’t know what will happen each time. “I’ll go see my dad and spend some time with him,” she said. Because she knows things can change quickly, she goes into each visit with an open mind and makes sure she is emotionally stable. She also said, “I’ve done what I need to do to make sure I can just be present.”

Regarding Bruce’s current state, Tallulah says that he is doing pretty well given the circumstances. “He is following the same steps as the last update, which I was told is good,” she said. She does say that some days are better than others, though. Everyone in Bruce’s family is there for him and understands where he is coming from.

Tallulah has to deal with her father’s illness as well as her own and has been diagnosed with autism. As she works on designing blankets, the weighted fabrics that make her feel safe and comforted help her relax. I feel safe and special when I feel heavy. This is especially true as I learn more about my autism and sensory issues.

It’s encouraging to see how strong the Willis family is and how committed they are to helping each other through these tough times. Even though dementia can be hard, their unwavering love and unity help them stay on track. As they go through this journey together, let’t forget about them and show them we care and understand.
