“A farmer found a big egg under a hen.” Everyone was shocked when the egg hatches!
Eggs are a common breakfast food that can be eaten in many ways, such as scrambled or poached. They give you energy to start the day. You can make a healthy meal with them by adding cheese, tomatoes, and bacon. Even though seeing a double-yolked egg might be strange and exciting, a farmer in Texas saw something even stranger: a double egg.
Double-shelled eggs are very rare, and even though there is video evidence of them existing, many people are still not sure if they are real. The Poultry Help website explains that this happens when an almost-ready egg turns around inside the hen and gets another layer of albumen and a second shell. A “counter-peristalsis contraction” is what the Countryside Network calls this change.
A person who called himself “just an old Texas farmer marveling at nature” posted a video on YouTube in July 2015 that has been seen over 3 million times. In it, they showed a normal-sized chicken laying a huge egg. The video shows the farmer carefully tapping the egg and then breaking the shell to get to the yolk.
He laughs and says, “Oh, I see another surprise here!” I said, “A double egger!”
He then pours out the yolk, leaving the egg white behind. “Forget double yolks, we’re talking double eggs here!” he says with pride. The inner egg, which looks like it’s the right size, is then broken open to reveal a normal egg, the kind you can buy in stores.
